About Me

Black feminist scholar • Public sociologist • Ethnographer

I am a Black feminist scholar working at the intersection of academic inquiry and lived experience. My work explores race, space, culture, taste, gender, class, sport, and embodiment, with a focus on how aesthetics are shaped by power.

With a careful eye and an ongoing curiosity about beauty, intention, and experience, I treat aesthetics as more than surface.

I practice public sociology and ethnography, making sense of the world through close attention to everyday life. I sometimes think of this as a kind of professional people watching.
